Shane Poppen is a native Southern Californian who specializes in tenant representation in the suburban markets of San Diego County, helping local companies to make the most of their real estate decisions. His experience includes site selection, strategic planning and needs assessment, financial analysis, negotiations and transaction structuring for renewals, relocations, renegotiations, and facility acquisition. Shane combines his growing market knowledge and the firm's tenant-focused discipline to create leverage and opportunities, commanding the best possible project outcomes for his clients.

Shane joined Irving Hughes in 2008 as a Summer Associate, learning the business of tenant representation as developed by the Irving Hughes team in a total immersion training program. Upon graduation from the University of California, San Diego, Shane joined Irving Hughes as an Associate and is now fully engaged and developing his career in the commercial real estate industry.

Prior to joining Irving Hughes, Mr. Poppen graduated with Provost Honor's and a degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. He was a four year letter winner and Co-Captain of UCSD's basketball team, during which time they became the winningest team in school history at the NCAA Division II level. Shane is an active volunteer in the community, coaching youth basketball at the La Jolla YMCA and feeding the homeless in downtown San Diego through the Flood Love program. He is a member of the UCSD Alumni Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Shane enjoys being with family and friends in his spare time.
