Shaun Burnett is a Senior Vice President of Irving Hughes and has more than thirty years of real estate experience ranging from acquisition, development, build to suit, leasing and sales of commercial real estate projects.

Since 1989, Shaun has specialized in tenant representation, specializing in high value and complex transactions. Shaun has developed a reputation for his total involvement on behalf of his clients' best interest in every step of a transaction. He acts as the project manager on his client projects, including but not limited to, project schedule, budget and overseeing the selection of third party contractors, architects, and other vendors necessary for the completion of the project.

Shaun enjoys his successful long term client relationship-based model with life science, medical device, and technology clients highlighted by representing; Diversa, Inc. for 135,000 sf including 12,000 sf pilot plant; Gen-Probe Inc. for 350,000 sf including 50,000 sf GMP space; Ceregene, Inc. for 30,000 sf including 4,000 sf vivarium, ; Alliance Pharmaceutical, Inc. for 150,000 sf including a 10,000 sf vivarium and 57,000 GMP fill finish manufacturing facility; Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for 50,000 sf including 3,000 sf vivarium; TargeGen, Inc. for 43,000 sf; Ambit Biosciences Corporation for 37,000 sf; La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company for 104,000 sf and Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for 60,000 sf; Regulus Therapeutics, Inc. for 21,000 sf; DexCom, Inc. for 148,000 sf including 3,000 sf GMP clean room; Roka Biosciences for 43,000 sf; Nexus DX for 21,000 sf; Enigma Diagnostics, Inc. for 21,000 sf; Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics for 31,000 sf.

Shaun developed his knowledge and negotiation skills in commercial real estate as a member of the commercial development team of McKellar Development of La Jolla.

Shaun received a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He earned a Certificate in Facilities Management from the University of California, San Diego and has a Certificate in Validation from ISPE. He is a member of the San Diego Venture Group, ISPE and San Diego BioCom. He holds a California Real Estate Broker license.
